"I have had many success stories over my 29 year career in Real Estate, but this one was great just a couple of months ago. I recently had taken the CDPE course after I took the CIAS course offered by the same organization. This comes from a little time off to reorganize my career and focus solely on Real Estate. Anyhow, I finished up the class for the CDPE and signed up for the advanced membership for $99.00 a month. We were told in class by doing so you are placed at the top of the list in your immediate area close to your office. Of course I’m thinking to myself, this may or may not happen, and if it does you are just plain lucky.

About 2 or 3 weeks go by, and while in another class (GRI-1), I get a call and it’s Chase on the line. The kicker is I just happen to be breaking for lunch to answer the phone. They precede to conference me in with the seller which wants to short sale their home. I make the appointment, get the address and think to myself the rest of the afternoon, this is just too good to be true. A solid listing falls right into my lap. During the same break I do a preliminary search on my trusted smart phone, and learn from Zillow that the value is around 1.35 million. How’s that for beginners luck? Now to fast forward, I have an offer and we hope to move forward with the sale. By the way it was an acre waterfront estate directly on the Intracoastal."

"My Active Rain Success Story

It feels so strange to type those words…never thought I would have an Active Rain Success Story to tell so no one is more surprised than I am!

A couple weeks ago I posted about the annual Toys for Tots drive and my call to action was simple – if you cannot donate cash or a toy, volunteer and donate your time. There were only a few comments so I pretty much forgot about that post.

Fast forward to last night when I received a message on my contact form through Active Rain from someone who lives locally and read my post. They wanted to volunteer their time and help the Toys for Tots campaign but did not know how to go about it so they contacted me for details.

It was exciting to know that not only did someone find my blog and read it, they liked what they read and contacted me for more information! Since it was too late to call last night, I sent a quick response thanking them for their inquiry and promised I would call today with details.

We talked briefly this afternoon and I gave them the information they needed to volunteer for the program. They are looking forward to being involved with such a good cause and I am thrilled to have played a small part in bringing them together with the Toys for Tots program.

This may not be your “typical” Active Rain success story since it did not result in any income producing real estate business for me but there is more to success than dollars and cents.

To me, this is what the spirit of the holiday season is all about…bringing together people who have a need with those who can help fill that need means success for everyone."
