Several years ago when I was in Jerusalem, I had the opportunity to visit the museum that hold the Dead Sea Scrolls on display - the Shrine of the Book.  As I was going through the exhibit, it was amazing to see all of the documents that referred to real estate - where the land was and who owned it.

Just reading an eye opening book:  Lords of Finance - The Bankers Who Broke The World by Liaquat Ahamed.  What an amazing story and such a story to measure what is happening now to previous eras of banking crisis.   I think the bottom line is that the world survived because we are still here!
