I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

When I need a good chuckle to lift my spirits on a foggy day, I hop over to one of my favorite websites, This Old House, and their section titled, "Home Inspection Nightmares."  They have a number of slideshow galleries, which provide great humor for today's weary real estate professionals.  Ther...
With several days of dreary fog, and then rain today, to say I have visions of getting out there to explore the world would be an understatement! There are so many great places in the Greater Sacramento Vicinity, and still more amazing places within a 100-mile radius of our city.  It's natural to...
This afternoon, I bit the bullet, and created an ActiveRain blog group, titled, the "Feather Nesters" group.  This blog community is for those interested in finding information and ideas on how to turn a house into a home, or in feathering a nest.  The goal is to have "Feather Nesters" be a great...
For many real estate professionals the news that came out on Wednesday the 26th wasn't much of a surprise.  Certainly we had wished that programs initiated by the Obama administration to aid troubled homeowners would be considerably more successful than they have proved to be.  Alas, they ha...
You are a seller, who has moved away for employment or other reasons. Perhaps, you have moved into another home, and left your vacant home behind. Real estate professionals generally know vacant homes often sell slowly, and for less money than a like property, which is well furnished. That's beca...

There is important stuff coming under consideration by federal bankruptcy judges in Delaware.  It is the request by two defunct subprime mortgage lenders to destroy a multitude of original loan documents currently stored in thousands of boxes. Because of recent court rulings, the importance ...
(Slide Show has 12 images)Although this winter hasn't seemed as gray and foggy this year compared to last, we have had our share of rainy, cold and dank days.  It's easy to feel a little cabin bound at times.  When this happens I sometimes get frustrated that I can't just cut loose and get away f...
Tiramisu Toffee DessertOne of my favorite Italian desserts, is their popularly known as Italian pick-me-up.  This version of this delightful treat, adds in toffee candy, which adds crunchiness to the texture. Ingredients: 1 pound cake (bread loaf size), cut into slices 3/4 cup brewed coffee ...
Oh my goodness, I've Been Tagged by Sandy Shores.   It sort of makes me feel like an Olympic swim coach friend of mine.  Once when I pulled up in front of his house, I noticed nearly every branch on his tree was raining toilet paper.  He smiled as he greeted me at the door.  "That's how I kn...
