I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

Real estate professionals often accumulate a variety of services, subscriptions and products, which become repetitively billed on their credit cards each month.  These subscriptions may have seemed of benefit when first acquired, but are no longer.  In past years, I had signed up for several subs...

I returned home from the Sacramento Women's March, a little while ago. HUGE crowd.  Capital Mall was completely filled from the capitol building to the Tower Bridge, about 10 blocks away!  Everyone was so friendly and kind!  It almost made up for the fact that I missed Woodstock in 1969.  The sli...

I'm headed out the door to Sacramento's State Capital.  I've retrieved my 1970s hand crocheted multi-colored poncho out of the old cedar chest.  I haven't worn it since 1975.  My sign is made, and I'm ready to go!  I hope it helps make up for my missing Woodstock in 1969!I take pictures for the p...

A new law in California became effective this month. It requires Owners of any Single Family Residence built before 1994 to install water-conserving features (typically toilet and shower heads).  Please note that the requirement is for ALL houses and not a point of sale requirement.  While there ...

For as long as I can remember, Sacramento has been known as the City of Trees.  We covet them, nurture them, and enjoy their company. The last several years of California drought have been unkind to our friends with deep roots, and lofty branches.  But, it has been this exceptionally wet winter, w...

I'm sitting here reading today's political news, and wondering if we have all fallen into a rabbit hole, and are now looking for safe passage through a looking glass! I take pictures for the purpose of remembering fond times.  I do not impose copyright restrictions on this photo, so you may feel ...

It’s no secret that Californians have been anxious to see the ending of drought we have endured for 5 years.  But, I’d venture to guess most hoped we would more gracefully exit our elongated dry spell.  Alas, it wasn’t to be! In the Greater Sacramento area, we have spent several days in continuin...

It was in mid November, I formulated my three 2017 New Year's resolutions. They were to (1) Learn to cook the five main French sauces, (2) Lose 15 pounds, and (3) Learn Spanish. The French sauces were easy. It turned out I already knew how to make Bechamel and Hollandaise. The other 3 sauces were ...

They are self-medicating with Claritin, throat sprays, and cough drops. However, symptoms sometimes provide an indication about whether it's an allergy or a cold.If the bug seems to be progres...
