I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

In the past I have written about the positive aspects of working from home. However, at the time of those writings, we certainly weren’t dealing with a pandemic which mandated we do so. There were no quarantine or “stay-at-home” orders. What is different now, from then, you may be asking? One thi...

I’m having a really good day! After 12 days of self-isolation at home, it was time for me to drop something off at the post office, visit an ATM, and go to the grocery store. In addition to procuring toilet paper and paper towels, I was able to toss a really nice Salmon fillet into the cart! As I...

It is always delightful to watch Children hunting for brightly colored eggs on mornings like these.  But it may be a good time to remember it isn't always a good idea to put all one's eggs in the same basket - Whether it's real eggs; or investment and financial eggs. It's not always easy to deter...

Few folks could have imagined at the beginning of this year, we’d shortly find ourselves at the threshold of this pandemic odyssey where a pangolin would become suspect! Few even knew what a pangolin was! But, here we are at the beginning of this second quarter of 2020, bunkered down in our homes...

In the past, I was a reader of many books!  However, for one reason or another in recent years, I've bought them, put them on the shelf in hopes of reading them soon.  Alas, the pages rarely turned! However, with California under a "Stay at Home" order, I thought it to be a good time, to remove a...

If there has been a silver lining to the current imposed California stay-at-home orders, it has been they at least came with the advent of early spring, when flowers and signs of renewal and hope exist. I found these scenes while out on a walk yesterday morning. I spent a little more than usual ...

I've been trying to get at least 20 to 30 minutes of sun each day. It accomplishes a couple of things. First, the sun has a way of uplifting spirits a little. I'm on my 6th day of the "stay at home" directive/order imposed on Californians. And, secondly, the vitamin D provided by the sun, helps b...

It is so easy to feel we are living in a bubble, when outside forces are one reality, but your own reality is something a little different! This past week has been like that for me! I’m actually on day 5 of having not left my house. Last Thursday evening, my grandson, who I hadn’t seen in a few ...
