I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

On Saturday morning, 5 of us gathered for a small quiet birthday breakfast for my grandkid, Macie, who has just turned 20. She is a testament to the fact that BIG things often come in small packages. At 4' 10" and about 85 pounds, she is the Head Life Guard at the U.C. Davis pool. She has also ju...

I've found that pandemic times can also be nostalgic times.  Yesterday, in the spirit of TBT (Throw Back Thursday) I was reminiscing about an adventure I went on back in 1995.  My son was serving in the United States Navy at the time, and he invited me to go along as a guest on a 4 day cruise abo...

Have you ever passed by a pile of junk ready to be discarded, and see possibilities that others likely missed?  I often have!  Because of this, more than once my foot has quickly found the brakes and brought my car to a screeching halt!  For example, I came across these old chimney pipes about to...

Shortly after first becoming a licensed Realtor in 1981, I knew I was fortunate I had wisely chosen my first office, and Pat Meredith was there. Pat was instrumental in taking me under her wing from the moment I walked into that little Century 21 office we shared.  She quietly guided me over to...

I’ve been having vivid dreams lately. I understand many folks during this pandemic are. In my latest dream I was setting a bottle adrift with a message inside, somewhere along the California coast near Half Moon Bay. I can’t recall my specific message scripted on the parchment inside, but after w...

Northern California has had its share of reported wildfires these past few days. We are in need of raindrops to provide relief to parched soil.  Couple with this fact, we are in the midst of a heat-wave which has us enduring temperatures hitting the 100+ degree mark with an abundance of dry grass...

Late last evening, while being kept awake by the firing of illegal fireworks in my community, I began contemplating how I was going to observe this July 4th holiday. No family is coming to visit because of the pandemic. There are no parades, no large city fireworks displays for the same reason. O...
