I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.
Here are my answers to the 21 questions put forth by Margaret Rome and Ray Henson for the August Challenge.1. We all go on vacation to get away from it all and have a great time, but I want to know, what vacation day was your worst? My worst vacation day was in July of 2001.  I was with family in...
During my 40 years as a Realtor, I encountered few real estate professionals, who at one time or another hadn’t occasionally experienced difficult, or nearly impossible client to work with. The methods which these agents handled those situations varied. (1) Some agents simply fire the client.  Wi...
Homebuyers sometimes wonder, with all things being equal regarding location and schools, what has more value (1) A house with 1500 square feet, which has a large Great Room concept, few halls, and well utilized space, OR (2) A house with 2000 square feet with large wide halls and stairways that c...
Yesterday, after a long early morning swim, I came home and did a little gardening too.  Visions of what's for lunch began to materialize.  Choices are sometimes difficult. However, I'm learning at my age, choices aren't always necessary, if everything is available. The testament is in the photo...
When my kid, Jill called and suggested we park our chairs on the grassy area in front of the gazebo in Lions Park in the heart of the City of Folsom last evening, I knew if I responded positively, the end result would be for the greater good. And, so it was!Multiple summer concerts available thro...
Folks in the Greater Sacramento Region are ramping up for a busy 4th of July holiday weekend.  Families are ready to celebrate. That means learning the times of all the local Greater Sacramento fireworks displays and festivities.  There is no shortage of fun packed things to do, no matter which c...
I want to thank Endre Barath, Jr. and Mark Don McInnes, for hosting this June Old Glory Challenge.  For me, it has provided a measure of healing, and I believe for our Old Glory, a bit of cleansing too.  Prior to the early 1990s, Sacramento was home to three military bases – Two Air Force bases a...
The last couple days, I’ve enjoyed fun time playing with the little online photo editing tool,  iPiccy is free, and offers several options to enhance your pictures.I used iPiccy’s “emboss” tool while playing around with one of my images of an authentic paddlewheel riverboat, The Delta...
Last evening, I spent delightful time at El Dorado Hills Town Center.  In summer, the Center provides a series of free concerts on several Thursday evenings.  We parked a couple lawn chairs on a grassy area across the lagoon from the bandstand, and waited for the music to commence.  Sangria was p...
Yesterday was a really delicious day! The temperature in beautiful Capitola along the California Coast boasted a perfect 75 degrees. The thought of warm sand on bare feet inspired not only myself, but my kid Jill, grandkid Macie and her friend Erin, to make the 150 mile journey to this special s...
