I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

There are days when living life simply is  richer than days experienced in luxury.  For me, this is one of those days.I woke at 6:30 am, and by 7:10 am, lane 1 at the California Family Fitness Pool held my occupancy for the next 90 minutes.  Weather in Sacramento today is expected to elevate to t...

This time of year, I generally enjoy having lower energy costs. It’s because in springtime, temperatures are more temperate, and aren't excessively hot or cold. Still, I continually look for ways to save on heat and air costs. It’s a year round endeavor.Any real saving begins with systematically ...

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Those who know me, also know I have a fascination with pirates. I study them, I observe International Pirates Day each September 19th, and I’ve had pirate parties at my home. So, it should be no surprise when Netflix made available a 6 episode series titled, “The Lost Pirate Kingdom,” it got my a...

Other than my grandson, who spent time with me during the holidays, it's been an entire year since anyone has been in my home for a meal.  However, a number of us older family members have been fully vaccinated.  So, 5 of us (4 fully vaccinated) enjoyed a little lunch today.  I cooked up paella, ...

I guess I'm enough of a born again pagan that I will always look forward to the first day of spring.  Today, I found myself driving around a bit mindlessly, simply enjoying early signs the earth is waking from its long winter nap.  The sun is out, and the blue sky has chosen to hold court to a nu...

If one needed be reminded what the most important thing in life is, I was given a reminder last Friday. It was a little before noon when I quickly became really ill.  It was as if my body gathered up every bit of moisture in my body and was urgently expelling it from nearly every orifice of my bo...

I'm feeling especially grateful and relieved to have received my second dose of Pfizer Covid vaccine this afternoon. It was early morning at 1:30 AM, a month ago, that a family member called to say Kaiser had just opened up for appointments to my age group.  I called right then and there.  I was p...

After a few days of high winds, and extremely ugly weather here in Sacramento, the sun and blue skies peeking through the kitchen window this morning, were a welcome sight.  It was a pleasant opportunity for my grandson Baron and I to find a seat in the car and go for a little drive.  There was n...
