Every time we disparage the state of the economy and talk about the terrible state of real estate, we create a self fulfilling prophesy. Margie has been with me the longest and is absolutely in charge. Most of her day is spent atop the sofa in my rear largely windowed room. She watches the front carefully, and if anything or anyone, animal or person passes by my home she lets the rest of my gang know and clearly they tell all that...
I have been running for weeks. I needed to liquidate my space at an antique gallery where I had been for years. It came on quickly and without notice and I had more inventory than I would have had I know. I am out now and selling online but the task was physical, difficult, and some things were b...
It is important in life, not just business to know when it is time to move on. If you are constantly having second thoughts, it is time. If the responses you receive are never satisfying, it is time. If you are always exhausted and never feel good it is also time. I talk with so many professional...
All week I have been hitting my yard work hard. I was out early and worked really diligently to clean up the dying annuals and cut back and cart away the thousands of lilies I have both in front of my home and around the sides and rear yard. Fasting is hard. On Yom Kippur a full fast from sundown to to sundown is the norm: no food, no water, no nothing. It is a time for contemplation and prayer and it is difficult. That said, once it is over I always feel good that I made it and grateful for my many blessings. I had a satisfying and ...
Tonight Yom Kippur. It is a time of fasting and reflection and it is tough. It is for me a time to take stock and think about what I am grateful for, and what I want in the future and how I can get there. Today I have errands to do and food shopping to get to. See you later.
I had a productive day today. I wrapped and mailed a number of items I sold online. I wasn't planning on mailing my posted antiques and collectibles but sometimes it is more cost effective for the buyers than driving here. Over the weekend I had a repeat customer come by to pick up something he b...
I had intended to spend most of my day in the yard cleaning up. It is raining big time and so my plans are waylaid. Stuff happens and you either go with it, or waste your time complaining about what might have been. I have other things to do and will stay busy on those things that need attention....
