It was some time ago but it is ever present in my memory. I had traveled quite a distance, seen things historic and moving and then on a small street in a little town I saw this guy. He was proud and majestic and ready to go. Do you have any guesses?

I love the chase, the challenge and the things I find. You just can't get this stuff in stores. It's old, it's worn, it has a past. I'm never the first to arrive but that is by design: sometimes there are more things that come out. It's hot but without rain there should be a crowd. Off I go.

It has been a really long week in the heat and humidity. None of my seasonal gigs provide relief from the elements. It is a killer day again today but I'm not working. Yeah. And so on this day I am grateful for air conditioning and my ability to enjoy it.

Every so often magic happens: without warning or planning something unusual, special and uplifting occurs. And because we don't expect it and because we hadn't been ready we often miss it. If you think about it you will conjure up your own story and remember a time when this was your blessing. It

Like this bird who stopped in earlier just to rest, I'm tired and taking a break. The bird stopped and took a long time to preen and clean itself. He/she stopped and rested on a light stand and stayed quite awhile. There was something in that face that made me grab the camera. Enjoy.

Yesterday I drove to Mt. Greylock, the highest point in Massachusetts. It was really hot and humid. The drive was pleasant and even the scenery on the way was great. At almost 3500 feet above sea level the vista is terrific. It was cool too. The temperature at the top was some 20 degrees cooler t
