I'm up early and I post shortly after that. I wrote a brilliant blog and when the system failed I lost it. I'm bummed by this will have to do now: I am not reconstructing the entire post. Here are a couple of pictures I like that have nothing to do with anything. Enjoy.

I just returned from dinner with one of the young people I have sort of mentored at work. It was an easy and lovely evening and we both enjoyed ourselves. At some point my young friend asked me if I thought she was smart. I was taken back. As I told her we wouldn't be out together unless I though...

Yesterday I drove to my old car dealer to have some major repairs done. It was a 400 mile day and it was it was exhausting. The total of the repairs exceeded the cost of my first new car. When I was given the estimate, it was even higher and as I waited for some seven hours, I processed how very ...

I'm off today for the first time in weeks. I have so many things to do and my house needs a good cleaning. I don't feel like blogging, and I certainly don't feel like cleaning either. The last time I checked I'm pretty sure no one ever died of dirt and I am going to chance it.

As the song and the movie go, some do like it hot: I do not. Working in an old building without air conditioning and then outside for four hours in the evening makes it hard to embrace the heat. So on a day when I have really hot and humid to to anticipate I look forward to fall temperatures and ...
