The best way to become thoroughly informed about short sales. We suggest a personal course rather than online the interchange with other agents is a priceless part of the education. It adds to a practice in a way no other course has ever done and is respected as a premiere education tool.

The training for the CDPE Designation was thorough and comprehensive and at the time it was very much needed due to the sheer volume of Short Sales. It was extremely helpful in getting agents somewhat up to speed with how to list Short Sales and most importantly how to get them approved and get them closed for the benefit of all concerned. While there was an opportunity to go into more detail about how to successfully escalate the file when the front line folks handling the file weren't doing what they had promised to do, I suspect the lenders pushed back on that information being presented. A truly excellent program and platform!

Yes, when we had too many short sales, this was good. A nice comprehensive training of this course was definitely valuable. A course cost of about $400 was worth it. However, it did not help me as much - only one 'incomplete' transaction I can contribute to my learnings. Again, the course had perhaps good information and I may not have used it to the best - the result for me, or what everyone says 'ROI', was not positive for me.
In a nutshell, I can say, it was good then and many senior agents did find success through this.

I got the designation several years ago but let it go this past year.. Back when short sales were happening more often, I felt it was an asset to have the designation even though I didn't feel like I learned much from the site any longer.. The course was great and I learned a lot.. the website and continuing with it, not so good.. I just don't feel like much of the advice was helpful in most real-world situations.. I did make some great contacts with other agents however and don't regret doing the course.. I will say DON'T pay for their "extra" stuff ( website, etc)... totally not worth it!!

We took this class in Florida when it was in its infancy...absolutely the smartest thing we ever did . The
instructor had a very hands on approach and could answer questions as an expert "in the field".... The continuing education, website, forms, webinars ave been invaluable to our practice. While thankfully,
short sales are not what they were...they will always be a part of the real estate landscape and this is the best way to prepare to navigate it.

This site has a page dedicated to showing you how to overcome a "bad BPO" (broker price opinion). If the "lender defaults to a BPO to avoid the cost of an appraisal". A video has been prepared which suggests that the broker who prepares the bpo will depend upon electronic data entirely. They contend in the video that "property conditions, neighborhood influences and other impacts are usually not taken into consideration"....often resulting in "bad BPO's that most agents receive". They go on to unbelievably assert that you should assume that the service will be presenting you with a bad BPO ahead of time " !!!!
Are you kidding me ????
