We have been using Dell computers since Windows 95 and have had very good luck with them. I have had over 4 desktops and several laptops that have been performing like champs. I have currently and XPS 17inch L1701 which is two years old and other than having to replace a hd that I thought might be failing me I am thoroughly enjoying this laptop. A subwoofer loaded into this laptop brings the best sound I have ever heard on a laptop and the HD camera and screen are fantastic. And this is the first HD that has ever failed me in a Dell. My wife is using an Inspiron from 2004 and though it's slowing down it is still usable without too too many quirks. A true workhorse of a machine. Overall my experience with Dell has been satisfaction. But I do agree that customer service does have some hurdles and challenges. If you are persistent, it can get done to your satisfaction but it can be a challenge. That's my two cents. Bob Hammerstein
