After earning a Bachelor of Science degree at MSU, I expected to be working in the packaging field as that was my major. Instead, I was given the opportunity to work in the most fasciniting industry in America, automobile manufacturing. My career steadily advanced and my responsibilities increased to a point where I managed a Business Unit for a leading international corporation. I handled annual sales of $36 million which provided employment for hundreds of people.
In 2000, after 25 years in the auto sector, I began my real estate career. My primary motivation was to be able to work here in Ann Arbor where I have lived since 1982 and to build a future based on my own initiative and skills. At the time, my children were 10 and 13 years old and I wanted to play an active role in their lives at the crucial developmental period they were entering. I didn't want them to grow up wondering why dad was always gone so early in the morning and why he didn't have any energy by the time he got home. Business trips to distant cities were becoming far too frequent and the rewards of climbing the corporate ladder were starting to lose their importance.
