Many years ago as a NYC Police officer, I learned the value of community involvement and caring. I have been deeply involved in many programs that benefit our community.
My involvement and caring has led me to a very successful career in real estate. I have been a top selling agent in the area for numerous years and have won the Centurion Award; one of highest sales awards in the industry. This award is given to the top 1% of agents worldwide.
I have trained extensively as an Accredited Buyer Representative, a Senior Real Estate Specialist, a Short Sale and Foreclosure Professional and I am a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute.

Barbara advised us on the procedures for getting the necessary Co’s which were needed and recommended the right people. We gave her the keys to the house and we went to Florida for the winter. | Dear Barbara, I just want to thank you for the top notch job you did in selling my mother's house. Before I hired you I met with a couple of other agents but I could tell that you were clearly the leader of the pack. Your focus, attention to detail, and experience showed me that you were immediately engaged in the project and that I could trust you to handle whatever came up, which was a comfort to me since I had to return to California. To me you were worth the additional 1% commission (almost $3,000 in this case) over the other agents. When I was at my mother's house in Seaford you were ready to climb up the stairs to the attic even though you were wearing high-heels because you were curious about a water stain in the ceiling, and when I went back to California you got right in there moving the furniture around with the help of your son, and without my even asking you put the cameras and related photo equipment I left behind in the trunk of your car and took them to a camera store to sell them for me. I was so very impressed with you when while I was in California you found $1,400.00 in cash in my mother's house stuffed in a sock at the bottom of the linen closet (I had no idea it was there) and you told me about it over the phone and mailed me a check for it -- so you honesty is absolutely unquestionable. You gave me the benefit of your experience with good advice but you did not push it on me, and you listened to what I had to say. You know how to talk to people and you are very likable, and at the same time those who speak to you know that you are someone to respect. Most recently I received from you the numerous Mother's Day cards I had given my mother over the years and which you found and could not bring yourself to throw out, so you also have a good heart. I just want you to know that I appreciate all that you did and for going the extra mile, and I am sending a cc of this E-mail to your broker so that he can appreciate you even more than I am sure he already does. | I recently had the pleasure of working with one of the finest real estate agents probably in the entire United States. Her name is Barbara McDermott. Last summer, Barbara helped me sell my late mother’s home in Seaford. Her advice was expert, sound, and reasonable. The house sold in approximately 2 months. Barbara spent countless hours at the house giving guidance and advice, not to mention the many phone conversations we had back and forth. It was a very difficult time for me and my family. Ms. McDermott made everything go incredibly smooth. Just this past spring, I found the perfect home! Without a second thought, I placed a call to Barbara to see the house. I fell in love with it, made an offer, and the rest is history. I closed on the home August 4th. None of this would have been possible for me if it weren’t for Barbara.
