 I was an English teacher in my first life, so a niche in the real estate market that I really enjoy is the first time home buyer market!  Prior to spending time looking at homes, I insist that those first timers come into the office and spend a couple of hours just getting acquainted and talking about a home purchase; spouses, significant others, parents are invited as well. We cover everything from where they want to live to what is an inspection going to include to what is earnest money to when do they get to move in. It's a great opportunity to do a bit of teaching, which I love.  It's an opportunity to introduce them to a lender and get that preapproval started, as well, which is so important for them as well as me. As a second career, real estate has been the perfect fit for me, and I'm very proud that over 95% of my business is referral business. Having second generation buyers reminds me of how important it is to get it right the first time!
