Matt Williams entered real estate full-time in 1996, working for a company developing single-family subdivisions. His broad experience includes Land Acquisition, Planning & Zoning Approvals, Utility Negotiation and Installation, and New Home Construction. In addition, he has created, implemented and managed entire marketing and advertising campaigns for new developments. Matt's background also includes experience in Mortgage Lending as a Loan Officer with Countrywide Home Loans.
Matt started his career as a Realtor with the Century 21 system, quickly gaining the distinction of Top Producer, and later went on to hold numerous management positions. In December 2004, he was hired as the Managing Broker of Schuler Bauer's New Albany Office, the company's largest. Matt's day-to-day responsibilities included the management and professional development of the New Albany office's 100 agents. In September 2006, he was promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Today, Matt is still the Managing Broker at the New Albany office, but his responsibilities also include leading the team of managers from Schuler Bauer's Corydon & Scottsburg offices, in addition to all Sales, Marketing, Training & Technology functions for the company.
Matt's philosophy for success is simple, you get by giving. He firmly believes that that success is not measured by what money can buy, and that he can have anything in life that he wants, if he can just help enough other people get what they want.
Matt is very active in volunteer service within the community, having served as President of the Jeffersonville Rotary Club, a member of the Bob Hedge Park Renovation Committee and the City of Jeffersonville Comprehensive Plan Task Force. Currently he serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana and Leadership Southern Indiana. Matt is a member of the Sacred Heart School Commission and is the Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 89. He also serves as a coach for YMCA Youth Sports and Jeff/GRC Little League Baseball.
Real estate is what Matt does for a living, but it's not his life. Family tops his list of priorities. He's been married to his lovely wife, Chris, since 1995 and has two sons, Jay (9) and Charley (6). With what little spare time he has, Matt also enjoys reading success & self-help books, and is an avid golfer.
Matt has a diverse background in real estate. As a Realtor, he specializes in working with sellers, offering advice and marketing services that set the standard for excellence in Southern Indiana. While not as often, Matt also enjoys working with buyers to find the perfect home at the perfect price.
As a manager, Matt has a great deal of real world experience. Managing a company of over 140 agents is no small task. Matt embodies the philosophy that "If it's meant to be, it's up to me." His main focus is helping agents become more skilled salespeople. The more skilled an agent becomes, the more empowered they are to achieve their goals. Matt has extensive expertise in coaching agents through the process of goal setting, skill building, prospecting, presenting, client contact systems and more. Matt does not view him self as a manager or boss, but rather as a coach.
