Get to Know Carolyn Thompson

I love being a Realtor.  It is a lot of fun and exciting helping others to find their dream home or move on to another part of their lives.  I can also spend time with my family with a flexable schedule which makes me a better Realtor because I can relate to my customers.  I have been where they are and I remember what it was like to be unsure about the process.  That experience has made me improve the process for my customers so that they don't have to feel that way and I can explain things better to them.  I have had many repeat customers and one client that has purchased about 10 properties through me.  She also claims my kids as her "other" grandkids.  Life is so much better when you don't stress over the little stuff and just have fun.  I don't let things get to me, but I also know how to get things done.  I am good at fighting for my clients interest and adapting to their negotiating style.

I am a devoted wife and mother of two wonderful children.  I am also blessed with two wonderful dads and one great mom.  I have all of my grandparents living and I try to see them as much as I can.  I like to have lunch with one of my grandmas at least a few times a month, but I preferr once a week.  Family is very important to me and I would not trade them for the world, even the odd ones.  I am a people person and enjoy conversations with interesting people.

They call me the "Slumber Mom" because every year for the last 6 (this year included) we have had a slumber party with all of my daughter's friends for her birthday.  The number of children that stay the night veries, but the smallest number was 12 and the largest was 36, but seem to grow every year.  This is a lot of work for mom and grandma, but worth it for all of the fun that we have with the girls.  They look forward to it every year and it is the highlight of October!

Computers, video, photography and anything "tech" is what I mess with in my spare time.  Taking picktures is a lot of fun.  I even won 2nd place in a local amature photo contest.

Certifications

I specialize in helping my customers, no matter where they are.  I have been a real estate associate in Oklahoma for over 9 years and a licensed broker associate for over 3 years.  I have been through Sweethogs, KWU (Keller Wiliams Universty) Classes, ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) course and several other educational programs.  I am a certifed eagent and have mentored many new associates through the years.  I teach buyer classes and technology topics to Realtors in my offices.  I was awarded the Keller Williams "Charles Bowles Insperational Award" in 2004 in recognition for my achievements in both the real estate industry and my community.

I grew up in the Sand Springs area, so know a lot about our community here.  If my customer has a house in Broken Arrow to sell, then that is where I go.  If I have a customer that wants to buy in Wagoner, then that is where we look.  I don't want to just be their Realtor for one transaction, I want to be their Realtor for Life.  Statistically, I do work with more buyers than sellers, but I mainly just want to work with good people.

Outside of real estate, I surve as the current president of the Limestone Elementary PTO and home room parent in my son's class.  I have been the Volunteer Coordinator, home room parent, and served on many committees at the school where both my children attend.  I also maintain my daughter's softball team website.  I volunteer many hours helping with my children's softball and baseball teams and school.  I try not to miss any of my children's games or activites and I usually video them all.  In 1994 I received the WoHeLo Medalian, which is the highest honor you can receive in Camp Fire USA.  This award takes a minimum of 3 years to earn and I was the first to complete mine on the computer as well as in a book.  I completed the Sand Springs Leadership Class #13 in 2005.

I have many talents outside of your average Realtor.  My clients and friends call me if they want know how to tile the bathroom, wallpaper the entry, install a toilet, or just texture the dinning room.  I do many of these things around my own house which gives me the experience to help others.
