After eleven years in private practice as a CPA, Chris Butaud got his start in mortgage as Director of Finance of the mortgage brokerage division of a regional bank in the mid 90’s.  In the late 90’s Chris founded Cleveland Street Mortgage with the goal of earning an excellent name in the real estate marketplace.  Chris’ commitment to the slow business of reputation building has never waivered and continues to be the guiding principle and only ultimate goal in his continued pursuit of mortgage excellence with Guild Mortgage Company.  Chris’ background in public accounting has proven to be an invaluable resource to his clients and their underwriters who are the gateways to their housing dreams.
 
On the personal side, Chris is the incredibly blessed husband of Mary Jean, father of 5 great kids and a growing list of grandchildren and children in law (not necessarily in that order). Chris and Mary Jean were involved in the founding of Providence Classical Christian School in Kirkland where Chris continues to serve on board and they also are deeply involved with their church in Bothell, WA.  Chris enjoys reading (mostly dead guys), watching soccer and playing bad golf. Chris hates running, in spite of which he does five times per week at the gym.
