As a mortgage advisor, I'm adamant about educating each client about the advantages of using a mortgage broker BEFORE going to the bank.  There are still way too many people that think that I'm the last resort, in fact, it would be to their advantage to talk to me first.  I help in correcting any wrong credit information which will increase your credit score along with getting a better interest rate.  Being able to offer my clients over 200 products gives them a greater chance to qualify for a home.  Their bank can only offer them their own products on their own terms.  Having access to over 30 lenders gives my clients the advantage they deserve.  My services are free to my clients as the lender pays a commission to me - so, it is in my best interest to work in my client's best interest!  The only time I need to add a fee is if my client needs to obtain private funds where no commission is paid. The greatest advantage to my clients is getting them pre-approved so they can hold that interest rate and know what their budget it before going house hunting.
