About the Owner, Grace Chopra

When it comes to helping people who are in a financial bind, few are more ideally qualified than financial counselor, Grace Chopra.

Grace started Exodus Financial in 2005, just as the foreclosure crisis was beginning to take its toll. Grace was moved to act as she witnessed the devastating impact that foreclosures had on the families in her community.

Grace is truly committed to positively impacting the lives of others and understands that quick-fix remedies are fleeting and generally don’t work. That’s why a component of her successful strategy includes identifying the emotion and behavior that drive people to make bad decision. She studied counseling psychology in order to better equip her to understand the human behavior so that she could better serve her clients.

Grace received her certification as a credit counselor through the National Association of Certified Credit Counselors. She also received her certification in Housing Counseling. As a result of her experience in foreclosure prevention, education, training, background and sheer dedication, she has helped homeowners save hundreds of homes in the community.

Grace understands that financial illiteracy has stood in the way of generational wealth for many families in the community. Grace has worked for one of the largest nonprofits in the Prince Georges’ County Maryland area, assisting with the creation and management of financial counseling programs. These programs have received financial support from major financial institutions, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, JP Mortgage Chase Bank and others.

Grace is an active member of the People for Change Coalition and the Financial Counseling Network. Grace is also a Real Estate Investor.

When she is not working Grace enjoys time with her family, traveling, occasionally volunteering, community events and always reading inspirational and personal growth books.
