My father always taught me that there are basically 2 things that make you who you are and how people percieve you. First and foremost is how you treat others. Are you kind, courteous, honest and understanding? The second thing is your work ethic. Do you take pride in your work? Do you "settle" for an acceptable job or do you expect an exceptional job? These are the things I think I always carry with me and the standards I use to measure myself as a professional.
I believe that my varied life experiences have also added to my "toolbox" that I need to do the type of job I expect as well as my clients. I had the privilege of serving in the US Navy after high school and went back to college at age 28, graduating in 4 years with honors. I spent several years as a teacher and coach and have continued coaching on and off even after leaving the teaching profession. I really feel like this teaching element in my background is SO valuable in what I do. I don't really feel like I am "selling" anything as much as I am educating my clients. Purchasing and/or selling a home can seem like a daunting task and I think it's very important to make the process as stress free as possible for people. I think with the combination of all of my personal "assets" I can accomplish this with my clients.
