REALTOR® Leanne Smith loves dirt. She also loves dirt roads, the lifestyle that comes with them, and the opportunity to assist other dirt lovers in their quest to find the perfect rural home or homesite In NW Arizona.
She’s known as the Grit and Gratitude REALTOR®, possibly because it takes grit to venture out to locate property where roads may not exist, and probably because she is truly grateful. She’s grateful to live where grazing cattle, wild burros, and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets are common sights. She’s also grateful for all the clients who have turned into friends.
Leanne credits her love of the land to her Swedish grandparents and the wonderful summers she spent with them on their NW Wisconsin farm. With that background and a husband who longed for elbow room, it was only natural that when they decided to leave Indiana and head West to be nearer to family, they chose a rural home in Golden Valley.
Her sales career began at the age of 11, selling penny candy at her father’s sundry store. It progressed from there through various sales positions on her way to a 20-year career as owner/operator of an executive leadership and organizational development firm. She has also been a business writer for the Chicago Post/Tribune and authored a book entitled /Be a Red Jacket in a Sea of Gray Suits.
Leanne holds both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees from Purdue University. Then, because upon becoming a REALTOR® she wanted to be nothing less than professional, she studied and earned four specialized real estate designations in addition to the required real estate licensing classes. She also embarked upon a study of all things to do with NW Arizona real estate markets, zoning, roads, etc.
Licensed in late 2017, by 2018 she was named Rookie of the Year, and in 2021 became REALTOR® of the Year and President of Kingman Valley Association of Realtors. She’s also a past Chairperson and an active member of the Kingman Golden Valley Professional Development Committee.
When asked about her favorite clients, Leanne mentions military veterans first. After that, she lists everyone who loves the high desert and rural living, whether as a permanent home or as a winter retreat.
On the personal side, Leanne values her personal relationships and devotes time to being with her husband, friends, and family. She also enjoys spending time with the family canines: Fritz the Third and Oscar the Terrible.
Reading is her favorite hobby, and she also finds relaxation in doing counted cross stich, crocheting, and painting.
Years of study and experience have honed Leanne’s skills and expertise in salesmanship to a fine point. She absolutely believes in professionalism.
And yet, she knows that above all things, the time she takes to listen and understand her clients’ wants, needs, and feelings, and her genuine desire to support them are the most important.
Teddy Roosevelt said “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care,” and she’s convinced that’s as it should be. It’s only when you know someone cares that you truly trust their guidance.
When you choose Leanne Smith to help you reach your real estate goals, she’ll go the extra mile for you – even (especially) when that mile is on a dirt road. After all, life begins where the pavement ends.
