I have lived in Mason County since 1978. As a result, I have seen many changes in the area. Growing pains are sometimes difficult and it is certainly difficult to try and please everyone. This area with its scenic beaches, waterways and mountain views create a very appealing draw to many visitors who someday hope they can return, and even better, buy property and move here. There are many who fight change, "progress" if you will. It seems to be happening - all we can do is try to oversee some of the changes and direct them in such a way as to preserve some of the natural beauty and resources of the area. A little give and take is required. I specialize in selling real estate in LakeLand Village, a community designed around a 50 acre lake and a 27 hole golf course. Lakeland Village was started over 30 years ago. The Anderson family has strived to maintain the original concept which envisioned a community committed to the preservation of natural resources and to the enjoyment of suburban life. Until fairly recently, the community seemed to be a really well kept secret. These days the word is out. There are currently over 800 homes in LakeLand Village. With the advent of better roads, good schools, more jobs, shopping opportunities, and the internet, the community and surrounding areas have grown tremendously in the last ten years. I have been involved in the local community as a past President of the Allyn Community Assn., a local Banker for 10 years, and now for the last 11 years as your local Realtor at Windermere Peninsula Properties in Allyn. In 2012, I began working out of our Belfair branch - I still cover the same areas since I'm only 10 minutes away. I'm also an artist.
