Janice Minter has always loved the coast. Raised in south Louisiana and Texas as a child, she developed a love for travel as a teenager, when her father's job in the oil business took them to Australia. She attended high school in Victoria, Australia, for four years before going off to college back in the States. The oil business took them to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia while in college and Janice traveled back and forth for several years stopping over and travelling throughout the Orient, Asia and the South Pacific. 
Janice Minter graduated from Texas A&M - Galveston with a degree in Marine Science in 1978. She moved to the North Shore of Oahu to pursue her love of surfing and worked at an experimental aquaculture farm. Her interest in buying real estate there led her to obtain her real estate license and she worked for approximately 2 years as a Realtor on Oahu before returning to Texas to attend graduate school. Over the course of 36 years, Janice has worked through three 'boom and bust' real estate markets in Hawaii, Austin and Padre Island. She moved to Corpus Christi in 1999 and formed Coastal Area Real Estate while attending Texas A&M Corpus Christi working her Master's Degree. She settled down on North Padre Island where she is a homeowner, investor and business owner who has sponsored many new agents over the years. 
Janice enjoys living the laid back island lifestyle on Padre Island and loves working on her Victorian style beach house overlooking Corpus Christi Bay, Mustang Island and Padre Island. She enjoys swimming, surfing, sailing, SCUBA diving, horseback riding, birding, traveling, gardening, photography and kayaking.
