My specialty is in creating databases for use on commercial Internet sites. The type of product or service being sold is immaterial, but the more products or services being sold, the more I like it. I've been creating databases for businesses for almost twenty years and worked on many Y2K projects for businesses in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Phoenix in 1998-1999. Experienced in simple databases using Excel or more complicated databases for Internet eCommerce sites using MySQL.

Databases that I have created have run the gamut from simple contact information for friends and family to databases for collectors of cars, books, music, movies, comic books, photographs, plants, newspaper and magazine articles, and even a genealogist who needed to catalog information from cemetery headstones.

By storing content in a database, you will have access to it from any page on your website. That allows you to sort it and display those sorts in any way. Even a site of static articles can be made less cumbersome by putting those articles in a database.

A properly designed database can make your site more efficient and flexible in storing information about your products and services, or information about your prospective clients or others visiting your website. When the information is stored in an efficient manner, it can also be easily retrieved, allowing for complex queries such as you see on many real estate-related web sites where the prospective client choses between many variables.
