Get to Know John Mankins
John Mankins has been an active member of the real estate community since early in 1978 and has had a hand in thousands of transactions! John was the owner and managing broker of Preferred Properties Real Estate, was associated with the Wells Group from the spring of 2005 until the spring of 2010 when John decided to strike out on his own once again and began working under the Mankins Realty brand.
John has been a CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) since 1999. This is the highest residential designation obtainable by real estate practitioners and only 4% of brokers nation wide have completed the education and demonstrated the depth of experience required to obtain the CRS designation. John has lots of experience in vacant land, farm & ranch and residential transactions.

John has had experience in bank owned properties and short sales beginning in the early 1980's. The current market downturn has similarities to the downturn in the 1980's and John has seen first hand how to way to create transactions when times are tough. Owner financing hasn't been used much since the 1980's, but John understands how to structure these kinds of deals to protect buyer and seller.
Certifications
My experience is varied and I have had a hand in well over two thousand transactions. I managed my own firm for over twenty years, and was responsible for all the contracts and the problem solving associated with all my agents' transactions over those years, resulting in a lot of experience in many types of transactions. My experience is heaviest in residential deals, but I've developed vacant land into home sites, overseen the construction of new homes and small multi-family projects, helped with home design, overseen complex deals involving mineral and water rights, and have been able to bring creative approaches to issues for clients and customers based on my many years of experience. I have been a member of a local bank's Board of Directors for over 13 years, and help that bank in loan underwriting decisions when acting in that role. That has helped me to better understand how to structure creative financing for my customers.
