Dryer Vent Wizard, (DVW) is a national franchise company specializing in dryer fire prevention and "urgent response" dryer and vent maintenance, repair, replacement and alterations. American Franchise Systems, (AFS) is the parent company.

Founded in 2004, by David Lavalle in Boston, Massachusetts, also founder of the Mr. Handyman franchise.

DVW is headquartered in Warren, Michigan with 50 franchise locations in the U.S.

DVW is under the management team of:

Greg Longe, 46, CEO and Managing Partner. Former president and CEO of Molly Maid and Mr. Handyman franchise companies.

John Lynch, 43, Managing Partner.  Former COO of  Ziebart International

Lint accumulation in dryer vents causes dryers to stop working or to work inefficiently.  It is also a leading cause of dryer fires.

DVW services prevent dryer fires and provide solutions to consumers' demand for "urgent response" dryer vent maintenance, cleaning, repair, replacement and alterations to get dryers functioning properly.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration, (USFA), there are an average of 15,000 dryer fires in the U.S. with an approximate $88 million in property, damage 15 deaths and 400 injuries annually. "Failure to clean" was cited as the leading factor contributing to clothes dryer fires in residential buildings.  Similar reports by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, (CPSC) and Consumer Reports confirm dryer vents as a home safety issue that lacks consumer awareness.

Eighty percent of Americans have dryers, yet most consumers are unaware of the need for annual dryer and dryer vent maintenance to keep the dryer running properly and prevent dryer fires.

Newer, more energy efficient dryers cause more lint to build up in the dryer vent line.

Second story laundry rooms and larger homes require longer dryer vent runs causing dryers to work harder.

Many times the vent itself is considered a fire hazard and needs replacement or alteration because it doesn't meet building code requirements.
