Joe’s keen aptitude for listening uncovers what his clients’ wants and needs are to formulate a winning plan in order to achieve their desired real estate goals. He developed this expertise through 15+ years of business management and time spent training and coaching others in the area of customer service.
Having worked with hundreds of buyers and sellers, Joe has helped individuals and developers to buy and sell real estate from modest to ultra-luxurious in neighborhoods from Back Bay, Beacon Hill, South End to cities like Cambridge and Lexington. Joe’s guidance has enabled his clients to discover new markets, to develop new ways of thinking about real estate and to achieve their lifestyle/business goals. This experience has given him an amazing ability to see what must happened to make transactions come together. An expert in relationship development, Joe draws upon his professional network to produce unprecedented success for his clients.
A native of Massachusetts, Joe initially joined Gibson Sotheby's International Realty in 2003 and co-founded Unit Realty Group, a local Boston-based boutique brokerage, in 2012. Before establishing himself as a real estate professional, Joe worked in the fields of retail banking and investment management. He went on to earn the Realtor® designation in 2004 and has subsequently earned the Certified Residential Specialist, Accredited Buyer Representative, e-Pro and Green designations from the National Association of Realtors.
Professionally Joe has been recognized for industry excellence and currently serves on the board of directors for the Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR), Greater Boston Association of Realtors (GBAR) and theMassachusetts Chapter of Certified Residential Specialists (CRS) as well as President Elect of CRS for 2013. Joe is also involved with and has chaired many committees within the local Realtor organization including Technology,Education, Strategic Planning, Communications, Business Developmentand most recently Professional Standards Committee, Social Media Task Force, Realtor Political Action Committee Trustee and Young Professionals Network for GBAR and MAR. Joe has also served on the National Association of Realtors (NAR) Board of Directors and is on the Diversity Committee as well. JoeSchutt.com received an industry design excellence award from the MAR in 2008. Joe won the GBAR Realtor Spirit Award in 2011 has been a finalist for the GBAR Realtor of the Year award in 2011-2013.
Despite having been recognized as a "top ranked" agent Joe finds time to be involved in the community throughout Boston. Currently he is member of theNeighborhood Association of Back Bay, participates in the Beacon Hill Civic Association and on the Executive Committee for The Common Canine. Additionally, Joe has held executive positions within the Boston Main Streetsprogram and the Boston Dog organization.
