Get to Know Tom Hall

I am dedicated to the Real Estate profession. After many years working in IT for large companies I have 'found my fit'. I just wish I would have found Real Estate earlier in my career.

I enjoy meeting new people and seeing if there is any way I can be of help without being pushy or overbearing. I believe in 'doing the right thing' and especially treating people with respect.

If you have ay questions or need any help with anything regarding real estate I will do my best to get the answer.

I am glad to be introduced to Active Rain at our association by a Keller Williams agent from Texas teaching a class on the web and blogging. I plan to make Active Rain an integral part of my 2010 Marketing Plan.

After a long time period of living in Colorado Springs and Denver and working in the Information Technology sector the job market dried up and waves of IT professionals were laid off making it very difficult to find local jobs meaning the possibility of re-locating and Sioux Falls, SD looked like the only IT option. Being tired of snow I decided to look for something else.

It was time to make a change so my wife and I packed up and headed to Ft. Lauderdale where both our daughters were living and working. Our oldest daughter Kim graduated from Colorado State and during her college years worked part time at a tennis club in Ft. Collins and met Cliff Buckholtz a former tennis pro who with his brother Butch managed a professional tennis tournament in Key Biscayne, Florida. Cliff and Butch were former US Professional tennis stars during the 60's and 70's. After graduation Kim was offered a job in Florida and has worked her way up Director of Player Services and travels to tournaments in the US and Internationally. I work at the Sony-Ericsson during the last two weeks of March in Key Biscayne, Florida where I am the manager of assigning practice courts and have the pleasure of working daily with the top players and coaches in the world.

Anyway, back from our move from Denver to Ft Lauderdale and what do I do besides enjoy the weather and the beach. The real estate market was sizzling during 2004 so I got my license. After a slow start because of all the competition I was introduced me to a friend at a brokerage who was doing condo conversions. This market remained very hot until early 2006 and then the bottom really dropped out. Things did not look good for 2007 with the high inventory and prices dropping so this meant a move was in order or find a new profession so we decided to move again.

This time we went back across the country to Oklahoma City, where my wife is from, so she could be near her aging mother and family. So after being here a while now we have had some ups and downs but things are starting to look up. Things are not near as bad as the media predicted because we did not have the 'market bubble'.
