Get to know Julie Shields Thompson

A Western Suburbs native, Julie was raised in Hinsdale, attended Hinsdale Central, and is a Downers Grove resident.  She completed a five-year joint Bachelor of Arts/Master of Business Administration degree program at the U of I.  Over the years, much of her background, personally and professionally, has been real estate related.  Personally, she has bought and sold property in both buyers' and sellers' markets in Illinois, Virginia, California and Arizona.  She has now partnered with her Mom, a highly motivated businesswoman, who has been in the real estate business for nearly 30 years and co-owns Brush Hill REALTORS, a very prestigious privately-owned brokerage in Hinsdale.  They have partnered to leverage their unique and complimentary skill sets to provide exceptional service to their clients with integrity, professionalism and honesty.

Over the years, her career responsibilities have varied and have given a fantastic range of skills that are highly applicable to real estate, so, the choice to become a REALTOR seemed a natural fit.  Some of her career responsibilities have included:  rental showing agent for a large property management company; model-home showing agent for a home builder in a highly desirable planned community; processing and closing mortgage loans for a Chicago-based bank and trust company; process analysis and improvement; project management; conducting individual and classroom-based systems, computer, and job skills training for mortgage center staff and loan originators, as well as, technology and systems support.

Certifications

Most recently, Julie completed the education and exam requirements for her Illinois Broker's license.  She also completed certification training in home staging to provide her sellers with the information and tools to gain a competitive edge and make their home the LEADER of the pack and get it sold faster and at the right price!  To stay current on the technology front, she completed NAR's e-PRO technology certification program.  This is one more way in which she is always working to enhance her service offerings to provide clients with the best service.  Effective marketing tools, efficient communication processes, and productive use of technology are all utilized to better serve her clients.  She is also always on the lookout for great marketing techniques--both online and conventional-- and looks forward to providing her sellers with integrated, consistent, creative marketing programs for their home.
