I know what moving involves, having moved many times before my husband's retirement after 20 years of service in the Marine Corps. Although we were stationed in Virginia, Okinawa, El Toro, Camp Pendleton and Twentynine Palms, we settled on the Murrieta/Temecula Valley area as a wonderful place to sink roots and raise our children: great schools, very low crime, and easy access to all that Southern California has to offer: shopping and restaurants and attractions both locally and in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. And now that our mom moved 15 minutes away from where we grew up to a condo with an ocean view on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, you'll find me there a lot! My path to become a broker became clear as my husband retired from active military service and we began helping military and civilian families and investors buy homes near military bases. He had a client whose big-box, on-line lender turned a typical 30-day purchase into a 60-day ordeal, with new “representatives” answering the phone and having to read about the details anew each time the client tried to get the transaction to progress forward. And unfortunately, this experience got re-enacted many times in variations, with loan officers becoming unavailable once the initial paperwork was sent to the client. We saw the need for someone the clients could know, like and trust to be the pilot of the loan side, knowing the ins and outs of getting the loan done in a timely fashion, and -- just as importantly and assuming no scenario changes -- on the same or better terms as at the beginning of the loan for the home you buy.

*Bear Creek -- estate homes on the golf course with views, pools and golf and tennis included in the HOA (homeowners association).
*Bremerton at the Vineyard -- lovely larger tract homes across the street (Hayes) from Thompson Middle School, many with views of the Santa Rosa Plateau to the west. These were built in 2005 and suffered large numbers lost to short sales and foreclosures, but that turnover has largely passed.
*Copper Canyon -- lovely homes on quite tree-lined streets, connect to and surrounding top-ranked Cole Canyon Elementary School.
*The Ranchos, off Santa Fe & Washington -- These homes are large ranch-style homes on large lots, with detached garages and many with highly upgraded counters, tile and flooring as well as pools and views of the Santa Rosa Plateau to the west.
*Paseo Del Sol -- This is a lovely master-planned community with walking trails, parks and the top ranked Abby Reinke Elementary School.
*29 Palms: Adobe, Amboy Road, Chocolate Drop, Four Corners, Utah Trail
*Pioneertown -- referenced in Kenny Chesney's "El Cerrito Place"
** Copper Hill-- These homes are in a master-planned community south of hwy 62 in the hills just to the west of Sky Harbor. The homes' front yard landscaping was usually included in the original purchase, creating a lovely synergy of consistent yet varied front yards that meshes with the desert surroundings. Many homes in Copper Hill have views, pools and/or are on cul de sacs.
