I am a native of Oklahoma and lived in Florida from 1989 to 2001. My husband I started visiting the Blairsville area in 2001 and enjoyed it here so much we decided to take the leap and move to Blairsville.
Before earning a Florida Real Estate license in 1999, I was Fire Prevention Secretary in Palm Harbor, Florida working with the Fire Marshal.
I started selling real estate in the mountains September 2001. The serenity of mountain views, wild life, waterfalls, are a few reasons to make this area your getaway or fulltime home. The North Georgia Mountains is truly God's country.

| Barbara Sweeny was the reason our home buying experience went so smoothly, but she also went the extra mile to help us become acquainted with an area we were not familiar with, to include taking us around to get our utilities turned on. | Barbara was great to work with. She took us to look at houses whenever it fit our schedule. When we found the right house she was great at recommending a home inspector and surveyor and getting them scheduled quickly for us. She was very responsive to our questions and needs. I'd gladly recommend her to anyone else and use her in the future. |

| Barbara did a lot of research for us and took us around to many places throughout Union County. She even took us to a place that we wanted to see but she undoubtly knew would not meet our needs. That kind of service is very much appreciated. We bought a property from a builder that she had introduced us to after showing us one of his finished homes. |

| Barb was our agent when we decided to purchase a vacation home in the North Georgia mountains. Although our initial selection of Barb as our agent was strictly by chance, it was a great experience. She was very approachable and quite knowledgeable of the area. She was responsive, answering any question we might have. She was tireless, finding out our style, and steering us to exactly what we were looking for. She stayed within our price range, never tempting us with something bigger and better. | I cannot say enough good things about Barb. We looked at many cabins, had quite a few features in mind we had to have, and she worked tirelessly with us to find the perfect home. She knows the area and steered us in the right direction. She gave us great advice about everything from location to floor plans and we explored existing homes along with new construction. She wanted us to know it all so we would be happy with our decision. When one offer fell through for us, she kept in contact with the selling agent just in case and it paid off. We ended up buying that home after the other deal didn't go to closing. She returns phone calls promptly and will work constantly to find what you want. | After many years of coming to Blairsville, we decided to purchase a home in the mountains. We contacted a local agent, but he could not see the vision we had for home we were looking for. Then we found Barbara Sweeny, we spent a day looking at many house, she could see our vision and continued searching for the right mountain home for us. Barbara is awesome, she was very patient with us while searching for the right place we were looking for and finally the right one came along. As soon as we started up the driveway I said we will take it, my husband laughed can I at least look inside first. Her internet-savvy marketing enabled us to find property in the North Georgia Mountains, and move from Wyoming to a new cabin home in three and a half months. She served as a perfect interface between us and the builder, and put us in touch with local resources we would need for banking, utilities, and the myriad details that arose in initiating a cross country move.
