I believe a client should know an agent's credentials before deciding on whom to work with during such a major process as buying or selling a home. I am a fulltime BROKER, a licensing step above real estate agent. I earned the Accredited Buyer's Agent status, certified as such by the National Association of REALTORS® only after completion of specialized training, comprehensive testing, and verified experience. In addition, I earned the Graduate REALTOR® Institute designation after successfully completing 90 hours of classes specified by the NAR. I have an assistant (my daughter) who is also a licensed REALTOR® and BROKER. We both have bachelor and master's college degrees. Prior to that, I earned a number of Century 21 awards including Century 21's top award, Centurion Producer (2009 through 2011), as well as the local board's Pinnacle Award for sales volume.

Certifications

I have extensive experience working with foreclosure properties, both in listing and selling. I have been the listing and/or buyers' agent in well over 200 REO transactions. I regularly do Broker Price Opinions, both to supplement my income and to keep in the forefront of asset manager's minds. Doing so has sharpened my CMA skills and puts me ahead of most agents in setting appropriate pricing and marketing plans, as well as in advising buyers about appropriate offer amounts.

In 2012, I opened my own brokerage, Riverbend Realty.

Before entering real estate, I taught for 20 years and then worked as a traveling sales and service representative, calling on area schools. Few people can claim to know the area's small towns and school districts as well as I do. Around my office, I am known as a computer whiz. Though that is not really true, I am quite computer competent, having worked with computers both as a teacher and in my traveling sales rep days. My expertise is desktop publishing, and I have really grown to love digital photography and all things PhotoShop! Sometimes, I yearn for the familiar smells of the old-fashioned darkroom, but not often!
