I am a retired school district superitendent from Alaska.  In 2006 I buillt a house on property that adjoined my family's farm in the northwestern corner of Amherst County.  We live on the border of the George Washington National Forest on the side of the Friar Mountain between the Big Piney River and the Little Piney River.  We are surrounded by apple orchards.  The closest town is Lowesville which is merely a sign post with a country store.  On our farm we raise llamas, sheep, chickens, and turkeys.  To shop we go to Lovingston, Amherst, and Lynchburg.

Certifications

I started selling real estate in 1989.  Between then and 2008 it was a part time hobby that got pushed aside by my education career and family.  After retiring in 2006 and building my house I started working at real estate fulltime.

Due primarily to the whims of the market I became a local expert in the local foreclosure market.  Most agents did not like the paperwork and responsibility of caring for REO houses.  I was new and looking for a niche so foreclosures become my niche.

I would rather sell country homes, farms, and land.  I am a country boy at heart and feel more confortable in the woods than on a suburban lot.  I like finding and walking property broundries, researchig studying maps and plats, and taking on challenging properties.
