I grew up in Virginia near Roanoke and have lived in Virginia Beach, the Richmond area, Waynesboro, and now Northern Virginia. My husband worked for the Virginia Department of Transportation and was transferred numerous times, so I am what is called a trailing spouse in relocation speak.
I graduated from the University of Richmond and taught elementary school in Botetourt County, VA. I also have a Master's Degree from Hollins University. I enjoy reading, decorating, cooking, and doing crossword puzzles. Probably my favorite thing to do is travel. I have been to all of the East and West Coast states and Hawaii, but there are a few in the middle of the country that I still want to visit. I have also been to France and Spain; Italy is next on my list. I loved Puerto Rico as well.
I am also a political junkie and like to keep informed on the issues.
I have worked in some aspect of real estate for over 20 years. I started my real estate career in Virginia Beach at GSH Real Estate and worked with many military families there. I also taught the principles of real estate course and helped people pass the test to get their real estate license.I became the Director of training supervising three other teachers and also taught courses in marketing and every aspect of real estate sales. After receiving my Associate Brokers license, I affiliated with Century 21 and joined their regional staff where I trained numerous real estate agents and brokers throughout Virginia and Maryland. After working for a marketing firm selling products and ideas, I returned to real estate sales with Long & Foster in Northern Virginia.
I became a real estate agent and worked sucessfully when interest rates were 17%, so today's market does not seem so bad to me. I have the expertise to work with everyone from the first time buyer to the million dollar seller. I am good at handling the details that can become very important in the sales process, and I treat people the way they want to be treated. I will relay every single detail if the person wants that or I will handle most issues to make it easy for the client if they so desire. My motto is "Martha Makes Moving Easy". I want people to feel confident in my abilities to perform in a professional and competent manner for what may be the biggest purchase of their life. Having been transferred with my husband several times myself, I can relate well to transferees and know the issues they face.
Martha works with buyers, sellers, owners and renters throughout the northern Virginia area. Her motto is "Martha Makes Moving Easy!"
