Michele Herger is a life long resident of Long Island, New York; she was born, raised, and educated twice here in Southampton. Michele attended Long Island University at Southampton College and was a student in their Friends World Program. When Michele entered the corporate world, she worked on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department Of Energy by promoting and implementi...ng the ENERGY STAR Campaign. Upon completion of that assignment Michele returned to Southampton College,which was then SUNY Stonybrook -Southampton Campus and studied Environmental Sustainability. Giving back through volunteerism and supporting both Local and National Non Profit Organizations (American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, ALS, Ovarian Cancer, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Foundation Fighting Blindness, just to name a few) is very important to Michele and it is a big part of her life. It shows with her dedication to so many many wonderful organizations. In January of 2012 Michele was awarded the title Mrs. Suffolk County NY America. She is quoted to have said," I am filled with both great pleasure and pride to represent the married women of Suffolk County at the Mrs. New York America Pageant in October of 2012". As much as Michele has kept herself busy with her involvement with a multitude of such worthy charitable organizations, she still found time to indulge in her passion for travel. She and her husband traveled to eleven countries and twenty two cities over the last two years. Visiting Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Malta, Portugal, the Canary Islands, and the United Kingdom.
