Get to Know Ron Gill
I was born in New York City in 1948. My father and both of my grandfathers were carpenters. My father also had experience in just about any phase of construction that you could think of.
The first technical field that interested me was electronics. I built my first radio when I was eight. I got my first amateur radio, (ham), license when I was twelve (WN2JFX) and I've been a ham since that time.
All of my professional life I have been inspecting one thing or another.
After graduating from High School in NYC I went in the navy and became a Jet Mechanic. As a Jet Mechanic my duties included acting as a plane captain, (crew chief), servicing inspecting and maintaining aircraft.
The squadron that I was in at Cecil Field in Jacksonville Florida was a training squadron so I had additional function of training new recruits to service aircraft.
After being discharged from the Navy I went back to NYC and went to work for AT&T maintaining and accepting electromechanical and hydraulic equipment for AT&T.
I also worked as a trainer, method of procedure developer, and Inventory Manager with AT&T.
I retired from AT&T after 30 years.
