Get to know Paul K. Higgins
My family has been in the New London area for five generations, so I have a reasonably good handle on what is going on in the areas I serve. I attended local public schools and my children attended local private schools, this gives me a great overview of the educational opportunities in the area as well. I am an active member of the Eastern Connecticut Association of REALTORS as well as a member of its Board of Directors, and am the chairman of the Technology and MLS Committee, a member of the Forms Committee, and have the designations of GRI, and certified E-Pro. I am also a member of the Connecticut Association of REALTORS as well as a member of its Board of Directors, and the National Association of REALTORS. I own waterfront property in New London, condo rental units in Waterford, and multifamily rental units in New London, all giving me insight into the joys, trials, and tribulations of various types of property ownership, all valuable tools to assist my clients. My community service includes Coldwell Banker Cares, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk, Team Leader of The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, and I am an executive director of Guthrie Beach, Inc. I am also a former scout leader, and a member of the Ocean Conservancy.

I particularly enjoy working with first time buyers, and helping them to achieve the American dream of home ownership. I have considerable restoration experience as the former president of New England Restorations Co. This is very helpful for clients interested in antique homes, and I enjoy being involved in the sale of antiquarian homes that have been restored rather than remodeled. I am also the former president of Shelter Construction Co., Inc. which, in addition to other projects, built highly energy efficient solar heated home developments. This experience is very helpful to my new home developer, and buyer clients. As the owner of rental properties, I have an excellent understanding of the special needs of investment buyers and sellers. Finally, as the owner of waterfront property I am familiar with the intricacies of dealing with the littoral rights of oceanfront property owners.
