Get to know Penny Justin

I have lived in Southern Maryland for the past 8 years. I am a transplant from Hattiesburg, Mississippi where I attended University of Southern Mississippi for my BS in Psychology and MS in Recreation. In 2003 I happened to meet my wonderful husband in Calvert County, Maryland. We were wed in Key West, Florida in late April 2006. Our daughter Aubrey graced us with her presence in late March 2007. We are a very active family who enjoys mini-vacations and time outside. I've had to learn to be more organized so that I can make sure that my business and family are well balanced.

My first career was as a Recreation Therapist who worked with kids and adults with disabilities. I enjoyed the career but found myself wanting to do more for my community. As a Loan Officer I am able to help my clients BUILD the community. In addition I am able to give back to my community both in sweat-equity and thru contributions.

I am a PROUD member of the Calvert County, Prince Frederick Optimist Club. We provide children and youth in our community opportunities to be great young adults. We have several programs that we sponsor throughout the year. In addition to being a member, I was elected for a two year term on our Board of Directors. I value our members and organization and thank GOD that we have clubs like this throughout our Nation. The Optimist Club is truly amazing in what it provides in our communities. In addition I am adjunct faculty at the College of Southern Maryland where I teach Introduction to Psychology. I am allowed the opportunity to teach great young and sometimes older students about the science of behavior. I TRULY cannot believe I get paid for this. It is so much fun teaching the leaders of tomorrow. I do this one time a week usually in the spring and love EVERY minute of it. Some look at it as a job, I look at it as a way to share with the younger generation and take them out of the chronic day to day junk! This is truly my recreation.

I truly love my career as a Loan Originator. Times are changing in the mortgage industry, but it is truly for the better.

All Mortgage Professionals have the same if not similar products. My niche is people. I provide my clients with programs that fit their lifestyles. My clients are educated about the pros and cons of each product. In addition, I make sure my clients know up front their rate and term, and how much their loans will cost them out of pocket (down payment & closing cost, if applicable).  Some of my favorite loan products are: Government Loans such as FHA, VA and USDA Conventional Loans such as Fannie and Freddie Products Reverse Mortgages for Seniors I am with the 2nd largest Brokerage in the nation. We have approximately 147 lenders that I can submit files to. Of those lenders I truly enjoy working with 10-15 of those lenders. Because of our broad range of lender choice, I am able to offer my clients excellent service, great rates, and consistent follow-thru. My closing statistics are very positive and are based on the number of closings divided by the number of applications that have been taken.  I average around a 95% of closings to application ratio.  In addition to providing clients with loans, I also provide monthly Free Homebuyer and Reverse Mortgage Seminars to my community. I also send out monthly newsletters to my clients and provide my business referral partners with weekly updates regarding our market. I want my clients and business partners to understand what is going on in the mortgage industry.
