A little more about the SRA designation:
The SRA membership designation is held by professionals who provide opinions of value, and the AI-RRS membership designation is held by professionals who provide reviews of residential appraisals.
To become a designated member of the Appraisal Institute, an individual must:
* Have good moral character;
* Be a Certified Residential Appraiser;
* Hold a bachelor's degree or higher
* Meet standards and ethics requirements;
* Pass rigorous education requirements;
* Receive credit for residential experience that meets this strict criteria;
* Demonstrate knowledge
Appraisals for estate work; retrospective appraisals (date-of-death appraisals); and appraisal review

| Rick was great to work with: prompt, courteous, professional. I spoke to him at length about the appraisal process and he clearly was very experienced, knowledgeable and thorough. Without charging me an extra fee, Rick went above and beyond providing me an appraisal. My house burned down because of a fire. I asked him to appraise my house with certain changes that I was going to make. In addition, I asked him to recommend key changes to the house that could add extra value. He provided very specific recommendation that he estimated would allow me to move to another "category" of house and add hundreds of thousands of dollars to the value. Because my house had burned down, these important changes would only incrementally add $80K in construction costs. It was great to have a data-based approach to advise me in the reconstruction. |

| I used Appraisals Guaranteed for the appraisal of my dad's house in Olney. My dad passed away a year ago. Rick gave me the date of death value from a year ago as well as the value today (at no extra charge). His logic made sense and I thought the report was easy to understand. |
