Get to know Shane Cook
I am a residential and commercial Realtor working with sellers, buyers and investors here in the SouthEast Valley of the Phoenix Metro area to take advantage of the current market. I have earned my GRI, ABR, and ePro designations to continue to stay sharp and serve my clients well. I am currently working towards my CIPS, to work with more international clients, and I am committed to continuing education beyond minimum requirements. I can help you identify what it is you think you want, figure out if that is what you really want, go find it, and then help you buy or sell it. I also buy homes, completely repair them, and resell them; so I have a great list of contractors who can help out with any project, no matter the size. I work tirelessly to find the ideal solutions for your real estate needs.
I am very active in our local Realtor Association, SEVRAR; graduating from the leadership program in 2012, co-chair of the Community Outreach Committee in 2014, sat on the Building Task force 2015, esteemed with the Realtor of the Year award in 2015 and on the Board of Directors for 2014 - 2017. I was the inaugural co-chair and 2014 chair of the YPN Networking group, helping to establish this group and our successful events. I am also honored to be an AAR Director for 2015 - 2018.
I grew up in the Dobson Ranch area of Mesa, AZ and went to college in St. Petersburg, FL. After college I moved back to Arizona to pursue business ownership and development with my knowledge gained while getting my BA in Business Management and participating in Eckerd College Search & Rescue (a leadership development program disguised as a maritime search and rescue program, the only one of its kind in the country). I know Phoenix and especially the east valley cities of Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek and Scottsdale like the back of my hand.
I live in Gilbert, AZ near my parents and sister’s family. I started participating in triathlons late 2005, and completed the Arizona Ironman in 2007, when I am determined to do something, it gets done! I have not been competing since roughly 2012, instead I turned to taking my border collie for long morning walks. I like traveling with my son and girlfriend to experience other cultures as much as possible and see new places. I also enjoy scuba, poker, hiking, triathlon, gardening and spending time with our families and friends.
I am also an active volunteer in our local communities. I regularly serve at St. Mary’s Food bank usually packing and sorting food for emergency food boxes and during the Holiday season ringing the bells for Realtor Wednesdays with the Salvation Army. I regularly volunteer with Gardenpool.org to help with their builds, and have one of my own. And my schedule allows me to volunteer monthly in my son’s classroom and other school activities. Through my business and SEVRAR activities I also financially support the Care Fund, SEVRAR Critical Needs Fund, RAPAC, and other local organizations.
I have purchased, sold, lent on and been a Realtor on many types of transactions and properties since 1998. I will find you what you are looking for and assist with getting the best price possible. My experience will allow me to assist with finding, buying, financing, repairing, and/or selling the property you desire. I have participated in over $250 million in real estate transactions as the buyer or the direct lender through my ownership and participation in various partnerships. These partnerships have purchased and sold well in excess of 2500 homes in the Phoenix Metro area since 1998.
I have worked in every aspect of the residential real estate process from research, acquisitions, repairs, maintenance, negotiation and marketing for sale, to property management. On the lending side I have participated in raising private capital, working with commercial banks to secure additional capital, loan origination, underwriting, foreclosing, to playing the asset manager and liquidation role as the markets changed. I have bought property directly from foreclosure auctions, private auctions, banks REO's, private individuals, other investors, and in our most recent recession Short Sales.
I have been involved in the takeover of a property acquisition, repair and resale company: taking it from losing over $250,000 to profitability, the start-up and expansion of a 6 state property wholesaler and hard money lender, and acquisition and refurbishing of a condominium project ($34 million). My daily business however is using my experience to assist and guide you through finding, buying, financing, repairing, and/or selling the property you desire..
