With interest rates at historic lows and homes values adjusting to the market, now is the time to purchase that second home in an area second to none. A wonderful climate easily accessible through the Palm Springs Airport and nearby Ontario Internatial Airport, golf courses for every level player, one major tennis tournament a year in the beautifly Indian Wells Tennis Garden, and many activities including fine dining, art museums, hiking, running, biking and swimming.
The increased population in the Coachella Valley has added many full-time residents. We no longer lock up in July and return in September. Many residents enjoy the Valley year-round.
I began visiting the "Desert" in the late 70's. The summers were hot and not many people were around. As time went by, I owned a week-end home here for 12 years. I was lucky enough four years ago to make the Desert my permanent home.
Time have changed here. We have year-round residents of many ages. Many people come here to golf but there are so many other ways to enjoy the desert: hiking, running, biking, theater, film festivals, museums, fine and casual dining, and on and on.
The current economy presents challenges to those who must sell at this time. However, those challenges turn into opportunities to buyers who are ready to jump into the market taking advantage of low interest rates and home prices.
