I am a real estate sales consultant that helps people have the lifestyle they seek. My motto is: See It. Experience It. Live It.
Get to know Sondra Meyer:
I am a long time real estate broker from Texas that now resides in Colorado on a small, diversified ranch that we are planning to transition into USDA certified organic land. The ranch is home to my three horses and a number of other farm animals. The cows, sows and other chicks strive to produce the best tasting beef, pork, lamb and poultry products that are raised in a free range type of enviroment. That said, I am not someone that is anti-big agriculture."
As time permits, my other passions include photography and renovating older homes.
As a real estate broker, I am very blessed to be able to spend my time helping other people that have interest in the country lifestyle. I know the life style. I love the life style. I can sell the country life style.
I enjoy helping people that own horse properties whenever possible. Due to tax changes years ago (back in the 80's) and the more recent increase in feed costs, the demand for horse properties as a horse property is not as strong as it was once upon a time. However, the people that own horses often very attached to their horses. At the same time, I also realize that people that do not have horses are willing to buy horse properties because they love the house and/or the location.
ABOUT MY HORSES:
Alright, a person that specializes in horse property should have the opportunity to say a little bit about her horses. So, here goes....
I've had horses since high school. I ride both English and Western. I am hoping to start showing dressage this summer on my semi-retired Holsteiner gelding. He is a goof ball. He still thinks that I'm insane for bringing home the Berskhire babies (my pigs).
I've loved cutting and reined cow horses for years. I used to follow NCHA cutting like some people follow football. So, I also have Cow Pony, a cute, well bred little reined cowhorse prospect that will be getting started this year. She is a breeding stock paint.
Then there is Tigger. She is my wonderful quarterhorse mare that was formerly shown Western Pleasure. I initially purchased her as a horse for guests to ride. She is a great all around horse to have.
Do you enjoy the outdoors? Do you enjoy running, biking, trail riding, hiking, horses, pro sports and/or water sports? What about the arts? If so, I invite you to experience Colorado. With its dry, sunny climate and mild year-round temperatures, the Denver Metro area, Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region is the perfect place if you love the outdoors.
There are 42 state parks and four national parks in Metro Denver's back yard. Over 100 public and private golf courses are located in Metro Denver. In addition, 11 world-class ski resorts are within 100 miles. The City and County of Denver has the nation's largest city park system with 200 parks. The Denver Parks & Recreation Trail System was named best in nation in Parks and Recreation magazine. Over 34,000 acres of parks are located in the nearby mountains. Also, counties throughout Metro Denver have preserved over 143,300 acres as open space. The Denver metro area combines a modern, metropilitan leanings with some of the old western heritage. Denver is the home to professional sports teams, many high tech jobs, and numerous recreational activities. Denver is a pro-sports paradise.
Colorado is an Olympic and amateur sports paradise. The Colorado Springs area offers over 350 miles of scenic trails ranging from easy, paved paths along Monument Creek to challenging routes through the trees and sandstone spires in the nearby foothills. There are over 20,000 acres of parks and recreational activities to appeal to any taste, from Garden of the Gods to Pikes Peak. From manicured turf to open space teaming with wildlife. Peaceful, open, prairie settings to raging waterfalls. Whether you want to commune with nature, work out after a long day, or just slow down and bask in the sun the Pikes Peak region has it all.
Do you dream of a home in the mountains or a Colorado ranch? The Denver Metro and the Colorado Springs area has numerous ranches, horse properties and mountain homes within an easy commuting distance. In the Denver metro and Colorado Springs area, there are a variety of horse properties available in almost every price range. The area has a number of people involved with trail riding, dressage, hunter/jumpers and eventers, rodeo and of course 4-H. Ranch sorting is becoming a very popular alternative to cutting. The people involved in mounted shooting are some of the nicest people that I've met. Of course as an Arabian owner, I personally enjoy the Arabian shows. If you need amenities such as a covered arena that are not in your budget, boarding your horse(s) is always an option. It is important to work with a Realtor that specializes in horse property.
