Get to Know Todd Stromdahl
After graduating from Barron collier high school, Naples Florida, in 1983 I entered the Navy and found myself in Antarctica as an Electrician working on helicopters with the national Science Foundations/US Navy Antarctic Development Squadron 6. After three very cold seasons on the ice, I decided to return to Florida and worked for The Ritz-Carlton, Naples as a Painter maintaining guest rooms and the common spaces. After leaving The Ritz, I worked for several years fabricating and installing custom stone countertops and floors. In 1994 my wife and I moved to Hickory, North Carolina where we purchased our first home and restored it over the next eight years. When I wasn't repairing something at home, I worked for Century Furniture making 18th century reproduction furniture for several years. Later, I went to Alcatel Fiber optic Cable, where I worked as a production coordinator until the end of 2001. After the 911 attack the economy slowed and I took a position with Owens Corning Roofing in the Jacksonville Florida facility working with 3-tab and Architectural shingles. This experience has given me a thorough education on roofing shingles and their installation. Becoming a home inspector was a natural next step for me. I have always looked at homes a little more closely than others, it's just a passion for detail that I have always had, a feeling that a home should be more than a box that we live in.
