Sustainable Realty Group (SRG) is a unique team of professionals within EWM Realtors committed to the principles of sustainable living. While this team is able to help buyers and sellers transact conventional properties, they are proactively developing the sustainable market in Greater Miami.
Thanks to their background and experience they can help sellers make their home more energy efficient; take advantage of tax incentives; do improvements and help them get the certifications that will make their homes more marketable to buyers looking to save money. They can also help buyers find dwellings that are located in more sustainable neighborhoods; are more energy efficient and with access to alternative modes of transportation.
Carlos Ruiz de Quevedo Carlos has lived in Greater Miami since 1961 and is familiar with the neighborhoods and municipalities that make up Greater Miami. He's a product of the local school system and holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami - School of Architecture where he also studied real estate, engineering and photography.
For about 30 years, Carlos practiced architecture as principal-owner of an architectural firm that was recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as "Top 25 Architectural Firms in South Florida". After selling the company he co-founded, he was Sr. VP of The Collage Companies (an Orlando based construction company) and VP of 3D/International (now Parsons Corporation).
Carlos held many leadership positions including President of the American Institute of Architects-Miami Chapter, Rotary Club of Miami; Chair City of West Miami Planning & Zoning Board; Trustee, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce; Member of the Strategic Planning Council for Miami-Dade County Public Schools; Director of the Girls Scouts of Tropical Florida, just to mention a few.
Carlos has been committed to sustainable living since his early days as an architectural intern with a former student of Frank Lloyd Wright; one of the authors of organic architecture, the predecessor of Green architecture. Carlos drives a hybrid and lives in a green home. Changing to a hybrid saves him about $1000/yr and over 320 gallons of gasoline. His green house saves him about $2000/year in energy costs.
He joined EWM Realtors, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, in 2003 and is a multi-million dollar producer. But his greatest satisfaction and recognition comes from the people he helps. It is the testimony of his clients that drives Carlos to provide exceptional service. His experience and EWM capabilities make it a perfect combination for providing exceptional service.

According to the US Commerce Department's Census Bureau, a college graduate will earn about $2.1 million over their adult life. According to American Automobile Association (AAA), a midsize sedan costs over $8,000 a year to own and operate -- over the lifespan of a 30 year mortgage that is over $240,000. If you could save $150/month in electricity you would save over $50,000 in 30 years. If you applied that savings to paying down your mortgage you could save another $60,000 in interest payments... These three items alone represent over $350,000 or over 16% of a college graduate's lifetime earnings. If savings like these encourage you to change to a sustainable lifestyle, then you will want to talk to us.
