We are an award-winning team of 6 agents, two of whom (my mom and dad) have been in the business nearly 40 years.  I have spent nearly all my life in or near the real estate business.  My first "real job" at 15 was receptionist for a brokerage in Fountain Valley.  I have a computer science / business degree from Pepperdine University (BS-Management of Information Science), after which I started a software company with 3 friends making MLS-related programs for real estate agents.  Perhaps you have heard of it, IRIS, or used some of our products, most notably "Lightning MLS Access".  IRIS was named the 192nd fastest growing privately held company in the US by Inc Magazine in their 2000 "Inc 500" list.  When we sold the company later that year, we had nearly a quarter of a million agents using our products and 60 employees.  My husband, Edward, one of my partners at IRIS, and I then joined my parents' real estate team. 

Between the agents on our team, we have the CRS, GRI, SRES, ePRO, CLHMS, and CAM designations, and Martie had an ABR for years.  We have won several prestigious performance awards, including reaching the Chairman's Club level of performance while at REMAX. 

Something I'm very proud of is that we have been able to well-serve and keep in touch with such a percentage of our clients through the decades that today we are working with some of the grandchildren of folks my parents worked with in the 70's.  I am also proud to say that I have worked with many friends and referrals who at first don't see that it would be possible for them to own their own homes, but through lots of effort (sometimes literally years), we get their credit cleaned up, budget rearranged, savings beefed up, and sights set ... and then represent them in the purchase of a great first home ... and second ... and third ... and some of these people are even our investors now!!  One of our best clients started by buying his first one-bedroom condo with Martie in the 80's, and today he and his family live in a $4-million dollar dream home, with several rentals in his portfolio.

The bottom line is that we work very hard to deserve our clients' trust.  Here is our mission:

Because that mission can be summed up as striving to deserve trust, we have been known to try talking sellers out of selling and buyers out of buying when we question their motivation or timing.  When other agents were cashing in on crazy lending practices, our performance levels stayed consistent with earlier years as we taught our clients to completely understand the long-term financial impact of their purchase, and tried to get them to consider the possibility that the market might not continue surging upward indefinitely. We don't have a crystal ball, but with 40 years' experience, we are intimately aware of the cycle and certainly sleep best when we know those people we will continue to talk to for the _next_ 40 years can count on our honest care.


While our office is located walking distance from the Huntington Beach pier, we work throughout Orange County, utilizing our brokerage REMAX's multiple offices.  We also perform expertly in certain LA County border cities including Long Beach, Cerritos, and Lakewood, as well as Avalon, which is the one square mile town on the island of Catalina. 

Our passion is for first-time buyers and first-time investors, but that passion extends to quality people who are ready to move up, downsize, or relocate with their job.  We know moving can be stressful, even if it's for strictly positive reasons, and we specialize in helping minimize the stress and addressing the emotional aspects of your purchase or sale.  And when the transaction is over, we make ourselves available, as our mission states, as an ongoing resource for FREE. We have received a phone call at 2am from a panicked owner with a plumbing leak 3 years after moving in, helped our clients challenge their tax assessments with the County, interpreted news stories and letters from HOAs for confused owners, been the first non-family call after a death or disability, and provided floorplans and ROI statistics for those considering a remodel.

For investors, we offer unprecedented analytics to maximize your probability for achieving your investment goals, whether it is a flip, long-term income, or a calculated progression to investment emperor!  As we are there for our residential clients, we offer ongoing support to investors as well: pledging to find and screen the first tenants for any acquired property for free, as well as offering ongoing property management services for a negotiable fee.  As investors/landlords ourselves, as well Inc 500 business owners, we can help investors not only consider benefits and pitfalls but to maximize the former and circumvent the latter!

We have also worked extensively with attorneys and conservators to both valuate and sell probate properties, as well as representing numerous corporate relocations, both listings and sales, for major corporations such as Shell, Raytheon, Honda and others. Both of these circumstances require a myriad of special talents and perspectives our team uniqely offers, from managing a family's grief to allying with a personnel director to understand and meet the needs of the transferee above and beyond their housing. And our skills come from both personality and experience!

Having represented both buyers and sellers in all kinds of markets, we have negotiated with banks on short sales and REOs.  We were recently honored when one of our former IRIS customers, a broker doing hundreds of Fannie/Freddie REOs in Riverside County, recently tapped us to joint-venture with her family on their Orange County business. She knows how we treated her as a customer, and she wants the same for these customers who are the lifeblood of her business.

And also consider interviewing our peers in the industry, as our integrity and work ethic consistently cause our fellow agents to show our listings more and give more favor to our buyers' offers.

One thing we don't do is loans.  Nope.  We will help our clients consider their options or recommend lenders we trust with zero kickback, but we feel that to be great at making loans, a lender has to hyper-specialize, not leaving enough time for them to be good at real estate, too. We're great at real estate.  It's what we do.  It's real estate to the Power of E!
