Over the past ten years, I have sought out many companies who provide leads for a price, and I have paid many thousands of dollars for those prospects. Many of them have given bogus information (name or phone number), and as one would expect, my conversion rates has been in the low single digits. For a while, though, I continuted to pay Market Leader $300 a month for their system because it more than paid for itself. I had a dry year of no conversions in 2013, so I gave that up for a Christmas gift to myself.

I have purchased thousands of leads. I do not know the exact figure for conversions but it is very low. Personally generated leads are much more likely to lead to transactions.
