Two issue should be clear to you since you actually noticed them.
#1. They called you AGAIN! That means one of the 10 agent who has paid the $10,000 annual, was not impressed with their investment. Be sure to understand how the time slicing works and ALL of the asses of zillow that are used to acheive smaller granularity in their slicing. (you get less, they get more)
#2. Do you have the time, infrastructure and resouces to chase internet vapors? Most agents, after spending $10,000 come the conclusion, "It does not work!" but the reality is they did not have the time, resources infrastructure or knowledge to make it work.
P.T. Barnum has a famous, non-flattering, quote. If you do your homework, you can make it work. If you don't. P.T Barnum will be right, "There's a sucker born everyday."
This applies to Zillow, Trulia, Market Leader, Bing all those folks trying to sell internet smoke. They can all work, but they NEVER work if you chase the vapors.

Not in my world. I get these calls all the time and not only from the big companies but from smaller ones as well. They all either start out letting me know about this one time opportunity or they want to know if I'm still working in real estate.

Do not touch them! I had Zero, I mean Zillo. All I got were buyers that were only interested in the subject property which was alreay sold or under contract. The final straw was when I got an email from a man who told me that he would be happy to assist me with the sale of a $400k property. I checked he had no license. I googled his name and there was his picture courtesy of the local sheriff. I immediately called Zero and told to drop me NOW! They did remove me. I always now check my potential buyers even it is a referral from someone I know.

That will cost you $10,800 a year. I would advise you to save the money and find a way to meet people that will lead to referrals rather than own a zipcode. One of our clients, spends much less than that on a Tennis Club membership in the area he is known in. As a result of his tennis expertise as well as his knowledge of the marketplace, he gets leads, stays healty and enjoys playing tennis. Now that is a way to spend money in real estate. A

They did that to me, and during the hour that I thought about it, the opening sold. Been unhappy with them - spend is going up and up, impressions down, more agents added to the search, site not user friendly, etc. I went with Realtor.com and have had excellent results for 1/3 the cost. Trulia is a headache too. Hope this helps.

Hi Lindsay, seems too me they are just getting money. I feel that if Zillow and Trulia merge and Realtor.com isn't enough for us then we are going to lose business. Why pay for leads? In my opinion if they are not listings is it really worth it?

Annette Lawrence you go girl:)
Lindsay Reagan,PA , all these companies call me( and I'm sure all of you!) all the time with ''ONLY today! blu-blu''.
I did not notice even one single answer who thinks that giving away so much money is a great investment for your business. Did I miss any?

Do not do it. I tried one of these so called deals one time and it was a nightmare from start to finish. Got leads from areas outside the areas I work, many repeat leads and etc. Be wise and save your money!

Like any other company, Zillow is out there for making money. They did start well - and for last few years, prices have skyrocketed! So, now it is up to you to take that decision - to go for it or no!

It's not worth it. You can use the same $$ for lots of other good marketing ideas instead of throwing it away with Zillow or Trulia.

Thanks Sheri, I have never tried Zillow or any of the others and wonder if I am missing out. I wish they would let you do a 3 month versus a 12 month commitment.

I always look at ROI. This will cost you $10,800 a year! Do you think you will make that back plus more? Back when I used Zillow it was $400 a month and no return on investment. I dropped it... I still get calls and politely tell the solicitor "no thank you".

I must be the odd one out. I pay for leads from Zillow and have had such a successful return on my investment! I do live in KS and my monthly cost is no where near the $900, I pay about $200 for 2 zip codes. I seriously have been able to convert many to buyers and have had a couple sellers. I am very happy with Zillow!
