Why would anyone want to read what the founder of Zillow, an ADVERTISING company, has to say about real estate?
Do you not have access to hundreds or REAL ESTATE experts who make their contribution to socieity by educating and guiding countless citizens and professionals into great real estate decisions without reliance on deception and theft of IP?
Would you not be better served in exploring the investor side of real estate or the non-real estate side of marketing or any venue offering advanced technologies in personal communications or even game play theory?

I agree in part to Annette's comment saying why would I care what an advertising company has to say, but I am not the one who will believe it. My potential clients will be and I need to know what they know so I can offer a professional opinion.

I'll read it if someone gives it to me, but I have a rule of not paying a cent to Zillow.

Wow, I guess some folks don't like Zillow very much. I was of similar opinion so that is why I wanted to read their book. See what they had to say. My take is they think that the data should drive the real estate buying selling decision making process. Nice thought if we were all computers. I do not think it is possible to take the emotional side out of the purchase or sale of a home. They make a good case but I do not think that an algorithm is the end all to home valuation no matter how refined it is. I would recommend the book to read both for agents and clients. I think you need to be informed, also as Sun Tzu said "know thy enemy".

As far as we are concerned Zillow has broken every rule in real estate and has zip for credibility.....

NO! I don't don't do anything with 3rd party sites with the exception of AR, which I hope one day will revert back to a better ownership.

They featured some bits of it on our local news but the answers in the book did not apply to our area where traditions were different,

I think we can learn from every real estate group, even the ones we don't like/agree with.

Not yet... I haven't seen too much out there that tells me something I haven't already figured out about the "new rules" just based on being on the front lines day in and day out.

If I stumble upon a free copy I'll read it, but like Patricia Kennedy they won't get a dime from me. I think it's good to know what's being sold to the consumer's we'll be working with, whether it's good info or not.

Bill Lucas I thought I'd get some idea from the answers - however, like me, others are in the same boat - don't know much about it or not interested. However, it may be interesting. A company that changes the online profile of Real Estate.

I haven't heard of this. Is it a book? Have you read it, and if so...what is your opinion?

I'm reading Zillow talk, is that the same thing? It's good, it reinforces what we already know as realtors but it'll be educational for buyers and sellers.
