KW is amazing and well worth them money, would cost much more to get all these benefits if I had to purchase them on my own.

I have never worked for a large franchise operation so I couldn't tell you whether the fees are justified or not. I see some excellent agent who work at the large brokerages and just as many lousy ones as well. I think the agent is the one that makes a difference and not where he hangs his license.

I am an independent broker and like it that way. Love my business. No other reason.

I own my own Brokerage because of a national franchise. They were inflexable and could make no decisions locally.

I always worked with a 'franchise' company Richard L. McKinney P.A.
There are pluses - lots of support, training, back up, national event so I like franchise. However, that does not mean local companies are less - some of them do provide lots of value to their agents.

I have worked for a franchise. I can see advantages, but now I'm at a small office that is the longest running real estate business in my small mountain town. It's still owned by the original owner. I love the experience and reputation of my office.

I think if you are a new agent, the large companies offer good, basic training, in exchange for a large portion of your commission. However, after learning the ropes paying someone a large percentage of your commission is not worth it, unless they are giving you leads, paying for advertising or providing something of significant value.
I remember hearing a new agent complain after receiving her first check from her first sale, she said "wow, real estate is a very expensive hobby".

I am a broker owner, and cannot imagine ever paying 30%+ in commission to someone!

People do it, because it makes them feel good to have what we would call an endorser brand behind them. It is like the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval in their minds. A

I was with KW for a couple of years and now been with a local broker msWoods Real Estate, LLC for 3 years. I love their commission structure (low very low) and their support. I have a home office and I rent a local office and it works great.

I fully believe the franchise fee that I pay RE/MAX is worth it. Having their name behind me gives me excellent immediate credibility and if you know how to sell your firm's "name" you can make serious hay with it.

I have always been with franchise companies. My final move was to KW four(4) years ago. In my sixteen (16) years in real estate, I have found, like in life, it good to have a people to support you, a good environment and the systems to help you be the best you can be.

I started with CB, moved to KW.....at the moment, I'm with a small brokerage. I like it the most. (p.s. not just because of fees).

Hello Richard, I work KW. They have a cap on fees. I have full support and training that is 2nd to none in the industry. I feel it a big advantage and well worth the money.

I have done both. When I owned my own company we had a local presence and did just fine without the brand. Today you would have to make sure the company was well exposed on the web since most of the consumers are finding theie info there.
